Like in-person classes, our remote lessons offer personalized instruction between a teacher and small group of students. These 40 minute remote lessons have up to 6 students, and 50 minute lessons like Deep Stretch and Floorstretch may have up to 8 students. All lessons have a minimum of 2 students (1 student may book 2 spots in order to hold class. If additional students join, only 1 credit is deducted per person within 48 business hours.)
As a student, you join the class from your own home. All you need is enough open space to move freely and a device to join the class online (i.e. a computer or phone with internet access and webcam or camera). You do not need any other equipment, but if you do have a home pole, yoga mat, or would like to use a chair, you are welcome to do so - class instruction is for everyone, whether you're dancing with a pole, chair, wall, or on the floor!
You can sign up for a remote lesson up to 10 minutes prior to start time! You'll get an email inviting you to join the class via a weblink that you access on your computer or personal device 5 to 9 minutes prior to class start time. You will be able to see and hear the instructor as they guide you through movements, and the instructor can see you so they can help you move and learn, and students can see each other and chat with audio and/or video on or off.
Remote lessons begin with a guided warm-up followed by instruction and dancing!
Frestyl teaches movement lessons for any apparatus. These include poles for pole dance, chairs and steps for chair dance, lyra, lyra pole, silks, and somatic movement on floors & walls. Until recently, we offered both in-person instruction in several Minnesota cities as well as remote (live, online) classes. When the Governor of Minnesota implemented a Stay at Home order due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, all of Frestyl's classes were transitioned to the remote online format to ensure the safety of our students and staff and to support the worldwide efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
